Ms. Kendall's class each wrote a letter and sent a care package to soldiers in Afghanistan a couple of months ago. Last week they received a very nice letter back from a special soldier. He addressed each one of the kids and responded to the questions they asked him. He also sent a box full of "scarves, that are only made in Afghanistan" to every kid.
Today, they got to skype this soldier from Bennett Elementary all the way to Afghanistan...WOW....Brooks loved it!! He got to ask a couple of questions, "What weapons do you use that they used in the Civil War?.....rifles" and "What do you do in your free time?.....read books on history." How awesome technology is...after celebrating our freedom on this Memorial Day weekend, they got to personally thank an American soldier for all that he does.
